C\u2019est la portion fran\u00e7aise de l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.eurovelo.com\/ev1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eurov\u00e9lo 1 &#8211; Atlantic Coast route<\/a>, un itin\u00e9raire v\u00e9lo qui traverse l\u2019Europe le long de la c\u00f4te Atlantique. Ce qui explique les petits drapeaux europ\u00e9en avec un 1 qui figurent sur les panneaux d\u2019indication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color:#0092b3\" class=\"has-inline-color\">En quelques mots<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le trac\u00e9 de l\u2019itin\u00e9raire est disponible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lavelodyssee.com\/itineraire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ici<\/a>. Le trac\u00e9 est tr\u00e8s bien balis\u00e9, il n\u2019est pas indispensable d\u2019avoir un gps pour se rep\u00e9rer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019itin\u00e9raire est plat dans la portion que j\u2019ai emprunt\u00e9. Il n\u2019y a quasiment aucune mont\u00e9e, hormis en arrivant sur Pornic. <strong><span style=\"color:#ffb126\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Il est \u00e0 la port\u00e9e de tout le monde, y compris avec des enfants.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u2019ai donc crois\u00e9 beaucoup plus de cyclotouristes que sur la Flowv\u00e9lo, c\u2019est un itin\u00e9raire tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quent\u00e9. <strong><span style=\"color:#ffb126\" class=\"has-inline-color\">J\u2019ai notamment vu beaucoup de familles avec des enfants de tous les \u00e2ges<\/span><\/strong> et avec tous les types d\u2019arrangements : enfants dans la carriole, en follow-me, sur leurs propres v\u00e9los avec leurs propres sacoches ou en tandem. (Plus d\u2019info sur les us et coutumes des cyclovoyageurs <a href=\"#us-coutumes\">en bas d\u2019article<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#ffb126\" class=\"has-inline-color\">En termes de paysage, le parcours est assez vari\u00e9.<\/span><\/strong> On roule au milieu des marais (avant La Rochelle et aux abords des Sables d\u2019Olonne), on traverse des pin\u00e8des, on d\u00e9couvre de tr\u00e8s belles villes. Cette portion de la c\u00f4te est tr\u00e8s touristique, il y a donc de tr\u00e8s nombreux campings, aucun souci de ce c\u00f4t\u00e9-l\u00e0. Je n\u2019ai pas eu de probl\u00e8me de campings complets (j\u2019y \u00e9tais aux environs du 15 ao\u00fbt), il y a toujours une petite place pour un cyclovoyageur. Attention toutefois, certains de ces campings offrent de tr\u00e8s nombreux services qui peuvent faire monter tr\u00e8s vite le prix de l\u2019emplacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color:#0092b3\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Le d\u00e9tail du parcours <\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">11 ao\u00fbt &#8211; J1 sur la V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e \/ 4\u00e8me du voyage : Rochefort &#8211; La Rochelle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le premier jour sur la V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e correspond au 4\u00e8me jour de mon voyage \u00e0 v\u00e9lo de l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 2020. J\u2019avais rejoint Rochefort vers midi et apr\u00e8s avoir fait mes courses au march\u00e9, j\u2019ai repris ma route sur la portion commune entre la V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e et la Flowv\u00e9lo entre Rochefort et La Rochelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est une partie tr\u00e8s spectaculaire et plaisante : d\u2019abord, on d\u00e9couvre <strong><span style=\"color:#ffb126\" class=\"has-inline-color\">le pont Transbordeur<\/span><\/strong>. C\u2019est un pont avec une nacelle qui bouge pour traverser la rivi\u00e8re. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 inaugur\u00e9 en 1900. Il ne sert aujourd\u2019hui plus qu\u2019aux pi\u00e9tons et aux cyclistes et j\u2019ai eu la chance de le voir fonctionner. Malheureusement, mon parcours reste du m\u00eame c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la Charente, je n\u2019ai pas besoin de l\u2019emprunter. Les voitures ont maintenant un nouveau pont plus efficace mais beaucoup moins charmant. Attention, il n\u2019est en fonctionnement que pendant la saison d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9. Rien n\u2019indique qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019un ouvrage d\u2019assainissement, on ne voit que des \u00e9tendues d\u2019eau, des roseaux et des oiseaux. Je recommande !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec 58 km sur la V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e mais 98km au total pour la journ\u00e9e, j\u2019ai m\u00e9rit\u00e9 une bonne nuit de repos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">12 ao\u00fbt &#8211; J2 : Dompierre-sur-Mer &#8211; Saint-Vincent sur Jard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette portion entre Belle-Croix en Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 ma pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9e du parcours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e9j\u00e0, la journ\u00e9e a d\u00e9marr\u00e9 sous la pluie. On avance de station baln\u00e9aire en station baln\u00e9aire, entour\u00e9 de campings 4 \u00e9toiles. La portion dans la pin\u00e8de entre La Tranche-sur-Mer et Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard offre une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 bienvenue au d\u00e9but mais les petites mont\u00e9es\/descentes incessantes dans un sol sableux ont vite raison de ma bonne humeur. Je finis m\u00eame par rechercher des raccourcis par la route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En arrivant \u00e0 Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard, je ne trouve qu\u2019un camping 4 \u00e9toiles o\u00f9 m\u2019arr\u00eater. Quasiment 40\u20ac pour un emplacement pour une personne, avec le bruit des animations jusqu\u2019\u00e0 23h, c\u2019est pas le meilleur choix d\u2019h\u00e9bergement du s\u00e9jour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>84 km en fin de journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">13 ao\u00fbt &#8211; J3 : Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard &#8211; Les Sables d\u2019Olonne<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette journ\u00e9e sera beaucoup plus sympathique que la pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. D\u00e9j\u00e0 elle me permet de d\u00e9couvrir le ch\u00e2teau de Talmont Saint-Hilaire. Je dois p\u00e9daler jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019\u00eele de Noirmoutier o\u00f9 m\u2019attendent d\u2019autres amis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au d\u00e9part des Sables d\u2019Olonne, je traverse d\u2019abord les <strong><span style=\"color:#ffb126\" class=\"has-inline-color\">magnifiques marais salants<\/span><\/strong> dans ce qui sera probablement la plus belle partie du voyage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puis la route se poursuit en longeant la c\u00f4te, l\u2019oc\u00e9an n\u2019est jamais loin. Je suis en plus accompagn\u00e9e d\u2019un grand soleil. Arriv\u00e9e en vue de Noirmoutier, il faut encore franchir le pont. et qui ne peut \u00eatre franchie qu\u2019\u00e0 mar\u00e9e basse. Donc deux fois par jour. Ce matin-l\u00e0, il fallait que je l\u2019ai franchie avant 10h pour ne pas me retrouver les pieds dans l\u2019eau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et je ne fus pas d\u00e9\u00e7ue : c\u2019est une super exp\u00e9rience de passer sur une route pos\u00e9e \u00e0 m\u00eame le sable. En milieu d\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi, j\u2019arrive \u00e0 <strong><span style=\"color:#ffb126\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Pornic<\/span><\/strong> o\u00f9 je monte (et descends !) les seules cotes de ces 5 jours sur la V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e. Juste \u00e0 l\u2019heure pour prendre une glace avec encore d\u2019autres amis avant leur train de retour. Ils venaient juste de finir leurs parcours sur la V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e avec 2 enfants en bas \u00e2ge. Le lendemain, je prendrais le train pour Nantes pour m\u2019y reposer 2 jours et surtout entrer en Bretagne o\u00f9 se passera la suite de mon voyage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"us-coutumes\"><span style=\"color:#0092b3\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Les us et coutumes des cyclovoyageurs sur la V\u00e9lodyss\u00e9e<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est d\u2019usage, sans que je sache pourquoi, de se dire bonjour entre cyclovoyageurs lorsque l\u2019on se croise. On ne dit en revanche pas bonjour \u00e0 tous les cyclistes. Il faut savoir distinguer le cyclovoyageur du cycliste lambda. Dans les portions peu touristiques, pas de souci. Chaque cycliste que vous croisez est un cyclovoyageur que vous pouvez saluer sans souci. En revanche, lorsqu\u2019on est au milieu des stations baln\u00e9aires, il devient plus difficile de distinguer le cyclovoyageur des vacanciers se rendant \u00e0 la plage \u00e0 v\u00e9lo. D\u2019autant que certains cyclovoyageurs voyagent tr\u00e8s l\u00e9ger et que certains transportent leur maison juste pour aller \u00e0 la plage.
